Rugs offer numerous benefits to enhance your living space. They can inject color and design into a dull room, effectively unify disparate furniture pieces, and add personality to your decor. Rugs also serve practical purposes such as insulating your home, protecting floors, providing traction for pets, and improving air quality by trapping dust. Moreover, wool rugs are an eco-friendly, sustainable choice that can become a cherished heirloom, lasting for decades.Where do your rugs come from? What makes them special?
Our vintage and antique rugs primarily originate from Iran and Turkey, with some from Afghanistan and Azerbaijan. We also source new rugs from India, Turkey, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. These rugs are distinguished by their exceptional quality, unique designs, and the skilled craftsmanship involved in their creation. Whether it's a 'tribal rug' with its larger knots and geometric patterns, or a 'city rug' featuring intricate designs, each piece tells a story of cultural heritage and artisanal expertise. What determines the value of a rug?
The value of a rug is influenced by various factors, including knot count, wool quality, design complexity, age, condition, and rarity. However, the most valuable rugs are often those with unique designs and colors that are difficult to replicate. It's important to note that rug values can fluctuate with changing design trends and color preferences. Ultimately, the true value of a rug lies in its beauty, functionality, and personal significance to you.Which is more practical? A hand knotted rug, a kilim, or a machine made rug?
The practicality of a rug depends on its intended use and location. Kilims are reversible and easier to clean yourself, making them practical in certain situations. Hand-knotted rugs, while more durable, are ideal for high-traffic areas and long-term use. Machine-made rugs offer affordability, making them a practical choice for those not ready to make a significant investment. Our machine-made rugs are of higher quality and durability compared to those found in large retail stores. Why are most rugs made of wool?
Wool is the preferred material for rugs due to its numerous beneficial properties. It maintains its elastic texture even under heavy foot traffic, resists piling and snagging, and possesses natural antimicrobial qualities. Wool is also fire-resistant and doesn't retain odors as easily as synthetic materials. Additionally, wool rugs can be cleaned with soap and water, maintaining their appearance for decades. Why work with Textura vs a Big Box Store?
Choosing Textura means supporting a local business that offers expert product knowledge, personalized customer service, and ethical business practices. As a small team, we handle every aspect of our business, from sales to repairs, keeping our overhead low and passing savings to our customers. We also provide valuable recommendations for other local services, contributing to the community's economic growth. What types of rugs do you sell and what are their "traits"?
We offer a diverse range of rugs, each with unique characteristics. Our collection includes vintage Anatolian rugs known for their colorful, geometric designs; Oushak rugs recognized for their large Turkish knots and casual look; modern Tibetino rugs that are luxuriously soft; minimalist rugs with subtle designs; transitional rugs that complement various decor styles; Moroccan-inspired rugs with a plush pile; vintage Persian rugs featuring geometric designs; Kazak rugs with bold, bright patterns; and kilims that are lightweight and versatile. How should I care for my rug?
Proper rug care involves using a suitable rug pad, regular vacuuming, and prompt attention to spills. We offer complementary fiberguard treatment for spill protection. For spot cleaning, blot excess liquid and clean with a mixture of water and dish soap. Professional cleaning is recommended for pet stains or visible dirt. We provide on-site cleaning services at Textura. It's crucial to address any edge damage promptly and rotate your rug annually for even wear. Avoid placing plants directly on the rug and ensure proper storage in sealed, temperature-controlled environments when necessary.Do you offer consignments or trade-ins?
We do accept trade-ins and consignments. For rugs purchased from us, we offer a fair trade-in value based on the rug's current condition. For rugs acquired elsewhere, we evaluate their saleability and can either consign them or provide advice on selling options. We also offer rug resizing services to help clients adapt their existing rugs to new spaces or create custom sizes. All rugs we receive undergo thorough cleaning and sanitization.
